"What Ukrainians need": US will announce new aid package during meeting at Ramstein Air Base
Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin will announce a new aid package to Ukraine at the fifth meeting at the German Ramstein Air Base.
This was stated by US Deputy Secretary of Defense Colin Kahl, the American broadcaster C-SPAN reports.
According to Kahl, the next aid package will include, among other things, additional ammunition for the HIMARS rocket launcher systems.
"Absolutely there will be more GMLRS munitions... This is really what the Ukrainians need," the US Deputy Secretary of Defense emphasized.
The meetings at the German Ramstein Air Base are a conference of Ukraine's international allies led by the United States. The meeting brings together more than 40 countries, most of which are members of NATO and/or the EU. The purpose of such conferences is to coordinate military aid to Ukraine to counter Russian military aggression.
The first meeting at the Ramstein Air Base took place on April 26, 2022 - two months after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
