Western aviation for Ukrainian Armed Forces will radically change frontline situation - editor-in-chief of Defense Express Katkov

Oleg Katkov, editor-in-chief of Defense Express, said this on Espreso.

"Ukraine's receipt of Western aviation changes the situation on the front simply radically and turns everything upside down. The weapons we will receive meet NATO standards and are adapted to the concept of using NATO forces. And the concept is that for successful actions, countries need to have air superiority - to destroy  or make the actions of the enemy's aircraft impossible," he said.

According to Katkov, Western aviation is capable of leveling Russian planes.

"When receiving, for example, F-15, F-16, French Rafale, Swedish Gripen, which are armed with AIM-120 missiles with a flight range of more than 100 km - this will allow the final landing of all enemy aircraft and will allow strikes at a depth of 300 km , or even 500 km. This is aviation and it is the most versatile means of defeat. In my opinion, as soon as we receive a significant number of fighter jets, everything in the air will become completely the opposite," the expert concluded.
