The West believes that Ukraine should win the war and wants it to negotiate with Russia from a position of strength

International political scientist Ramis Yunus stated this while speaking live on air of Espreso TV.

"Here, more attention should be paid to the Chinese issue than to the Turkish issue in terms of what awaits your war. Your war has entered a phase when everyone expects success on the battlefield, the counteroffensive that everyone is talking about today. It is not for nothing that China has stepped to the forefront today and offers itself as a moderator. For the next two months, there will be no activity from Turkey, some calls, but it's just maintaining the situation in a certain state. What will happen in the future, who will be the main moderator and who will be able to influence this war? It will undoubtedly be the United States and China, but not Turkey or the United Nations," he said.

The expert added that the United States is a party to the conflict, while China has remained neutral. At the same time, Turkey is a representative of the West and has good relations with Russia. That is why the country was suitable for the role of moderator. However, later the political situation may become such that China will have to be involved if events unfold according to the plans of the West and China.

"It is no coincidence that China has unveiled this 12-point peace plan.  They will push this peace plan into life. In terms of scale and capabilities, China is much stronger than Turkey. In the end, Turkey was chosen by the United States, Russia, and Ukraine. If everything coincides and everyone benefits from it, including Russia and Ukraine, because when it is beneficial to the United States, there will come a time when these negotiations will have to be held, and then not only Turkey but also China will take part in the negotiations," the political scientist explained.

According to him, this is only rhetoric for now, and the agenda of future talks will depend on the events on the battlefield.

"The West wants Ukraine to conduct these negotiations from a position of strength, because it has decided to move from the point of view "Ukraine will not lose" to "Ukraine must win". This is the main thing. And if Ukraine has to win, it means that Ukraine has to succeed on the battlefield. Ukraine must negotiate from a position of strength," Ramis Yunus emphasized.
