West backs special international court to prosecute key Russian war criminals
Political scientist Andriy Piontkovskyy notes that any negotiations with Putin are pointless
He said this live on air of Espreso TV channel.
"Putin does not want peace and negotiations. He wants a pause, a halt to Ukrainian offensive, a halt to supply of weapons. If Putin is given negotiations now, he will use them to accumulate weapons, recruit mobilized people and try to start this aggression again," Piontkovskyy said.
Political scientist also added that court in Hague is international criminal court, which will consider tens of thousands of war crimes documented in Kyiv, in Bucha, Izyum, Mariupol, and Kherson. Wherever the crimes were committed by rank-and-file executioners of Russian Federation.
"The West decided to create special international court to prosecute main war criminals, because there is no such crime as aggression against sovereign country under jurisdiction of International Criminal Court. For main war criminals, and I think that not only Putin and Lavrov will go there, but also Simonyan. Special tribunal will be created for crimes of principle such as aggression," Piontkovskyy explained.
