We need to look into eyes of those who are our true friends, not Putin or Xi Jinping

All these requests for a meeting with Xi from Volodymyr Zelenskyy remind me of the desire to 'look Putin in the eye' after the election. Neither Putin nor Xi Jinping are interested in Zelenskyy. Because they are not interested in Ukraine itself.
For Putin, we are a part of the empire that someone broke away and needs to be returned. For Xi, too, we can only be of interest if, like Belarus, we become Russia's vassals. Because the vassal of my vassal is my vassal.
A similar political discussion is taking place in Taiwan. The ruling party does not want to look Xi in the eye and is trying hard to improve relations with the US because it hopes to protect America.
This should be our policy as well. Both Democrats and Republicans recognize China as the greatest threat. And we would need to demonstrate in every possible way that the US is Ukraine's greatest ally, and Ukraine is the US greatest ally, including in the Asia-Pacific region.
Another pillar of our support, and no less important, is the European Union and especially the countries of Central Europe. We should also coordinate our foreign policy actions with them.
Therefore, we need to look into the eyes of those who are our true friends, not Putin or Xi Jinping.
