Verkhovna Rada appoints Andriy Kostin as Prosecutor General
The Verkhovna Rada has voted to appoint Andriy Kostin, the People's Deputy from Servant of the People party, the head of the parliamentary committee on legal policy, nominated by President Volodymyr Zelensky, as the Prosecutor General.

299 People's Deputies voted for Kostin's candidacy.
Earlier, People's Deputy from Holos Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported in Telegram that there were "more than enough" votes for Kostin's candidacy, and also suggested that the next head of the Council's legal committee would be lawyer, judge, People's Deputy from Servant of the People party Denys Maslov.
People's deputy from the Motherland faction Mykhailo Tsimbalyuk called Kostin "equally distant from everyone", noting that the president respects him.
Andriy Kostin is a People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party. In 1995, he graduated from the Law Institute of Odesa State University, received a certificate of the right to practice law and became a member of the Odesa Regional Bar Association. Since January 14, 2020, he has been the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy.
