US military aid package includes interesting prototypes of weapons to strengthen strike capabilities, air defense - Zgurets

"This package of US military aid is extremely important, as well as the largest. The new package provides quite interesting samples of weapons, which are aimed at strengthening the strike capabilities, namely ammunition for artillery, and strengthening air defense. We will receive six NASAMS complexes to the two that were promised earlier, respectively, eight complexes will be able to cover one small city from the enemy's cruise and ballistic missiles. I hope that this is the first step in the further increase of the air defense system. By the way, the package contained a significant number of missiles for NASAMS systems, which can destroy targets at a distance of up to 40 km. I think that the first samples will arrive in the next two months", the military analyst commented.

Serhiy Zgurets noted that the IRIS-T systems should also arrive within two months, taking into account the fact that the German IRIS-Ts need to be manufactured. And NASAMS can be taken somewhere from the reserves, although it will also be quite difficult.

"In addition, the package of military assistance contains a sample called VAMPIRE, which can be an air defense system, but of short range, because it is aimed at destroying enemy drones. This sample is being transferred to Ukraine for the first time. The list of unmanned systems is also in the new package, which will strengthen the capabilities of our artillery, scouting enemy targets, and destroying them", Zgurets noted.

The military expert added that in any case the Ukrainian Armed Forces are waiting for further packages of military aid, which will include offensive weapons, tanks, and armored combat vehicles, because without this they cannot conduct offensive operations to liberate Ukrainian territories.
