US believes that Russia continues to develop offensive biological weapons program
The United States is convinced that Russia continues to develop a program to create biological weapons in violation of the Biological Weapons Convention
This was stated on Tuesday, March 14, by US State Department spokesman Ned Price, Ukrinform reports.
"The United States assesses that Russia continues to maintain an offensive biological weapons program in violation of its obligations under the Biological Weapons Convention," the US Departament of State spokesman said.
He also emphasized that the Kremlin has been spreading disinformation for many years, including about the so-called "biological weapons laboratories" in Ukraine, to justify its aggression. In particular, he added that the Russian parliament, Kremlin-controlled media, information websites linked to Russian intelligence, and so-called experts are involved in this effort.
“These entities work together to inject the information environment with a sustained drip of disinformation narratives to create the illusion of multiple voices echoing one another,” Price said.
