UN Security Council rejects Russia's provocation and refuses to give floor to ‘DPR’ official
Moscow tried to get the ‘DPR Ombudsman’ to speak at a UN Security Council meeting initiated by Russia and was not supported
According to Ukrinform, Russia first tried to disrupt the UN Security Council meeting by demanding that DPR representative Daria Mozgova be involved, Mozambique's Permanent Representative to the UN Pedro Comissario Afonso shared with the Council members.
Since this is a procedural issue, it could have been put to a vote. A Security Council decision on a procedural issue is considered adopted if 9 out of 15 votes of the Council members are in favor of it.
According to TASS, the United States did request a procedural vote in the UN Security Council on Morozova's speech.
As a result of the vote, the UN Security Council voted against the speech of the DPR Ombudsman at a meeting on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
