Ukroboronprom starts producing munitions with NATO member state for the first time
Ukraine’s state-owned Ukroboronprom arms conglomerate and a NATO member state have begun jointly producing 120 mm mines, the first ammunition made under this scheme
The press service of Ukroboronprom reported that the 120-mm mines are manufactured using modern technologies. The production facilities are dispersed, including some located in a European country.
The conglomerate noted that this ammunition is the first result of joint production with a NATO member state, and a contract for the supply of these munitions was recently signed with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
“This ammunition is guaranteed to hit enemy infantry within a radius of 25 meters to 60 meters, and the fragmentation can reach 250 meters. In addition, the 120-mm mine is capable of destroying engineering structures and lightly armored vehicles,” Ukroboronprom said.
In general, a 120-mm mortar can hit targets at a distance of up to 7 kilometers, and with modern ammunition - more than 8 kilometers.
For example, the 120-mm mortar is one of the most common types of artillery weapons in Ukraine, which Ukrainian defenders are actively using against the invading Russian forces.
