Ukraine downs 71 Russian drones in night and morning attack on November 25
On the night and morning of November 25, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine with drones. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully destroyed 71 Russian UAVs
As reported by the Ukrainian Air Force, from 6:30 p.m. on November 24 until the early morning of the next day, the Russian army had been launching Shahed drones and unidentified UAVs from the directions of Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and occupied Crimea.
During this time, Ukraine's radio-technical units detected and tracked 145 Russian drones. By 11:00 a.m., air defense systems had downed 71 drones in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions.
Moreover, 71 drones were likely jammed by electronic warfare, and one drone flew towards Belarus.
The Air Force also noted that between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on November 24, Russia launched another wave of strikes with different types of drones, guided bombs, and Kh-59/69 air-to-ground missiles.
"As the enemy constantly changes its tactics for using strike drones, the way we report on the results of air defense operations may change. Previously, Shahed attacks happened only at night, but now Russia is also using UAVs during the day," the Ukrainian Air Force stated.
- On the morning of Monday, November 25, explosions were heard in Kharkiv. Russian troops struck the central part of the city, resulting in casualties.
