“Ukrainians can reestablish the 1991 sovereign borders” - John Spencer
On the air of the Spotlight Ukraine program, retired US Army Major John Spencer talked about which army is better prepared for winter and whether Ukrainians should expect more deliveries of HIMARS systems
This is reported on Spotlight Ukraine | Espreso TV Channel.
The Chair of Urban Warfare Studies at Modern War Institute at West Point is convinced that the Ukrainian army is much better prepared for the difficult winter season.
“Of course, Ukrainians are more prepared. They have stronger interior lines, the Ukrainian leadership cares about their soldiers, they will rotate them, and they will make sure that they are equipped with all the necessary equipment. And this is almost the polar opposite of the Russians. The Russians do not have winter clothes, winterized equipment, and the capability to rotate their forces,” he said.
John Spencer hopes that Ukraine's Armed Forces will be able to return all territories within the borders of 1991, including Russian-occupied Crimea.
“I believe and I have hope that Ukrainians can reclaim all their territories and reestablish their 1991 sovereign borders,” he said.
The military specialist also emphasized that the Ukrainian forces can expect more supplies of HIMARS systems and ammunition for them, as the servicemen really need them on the battlefield.
