Ukrainian Armed Forces capture modern Russian anti-tank mines in Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian military seized modern Russian PTKM-1R anti-tank mines, which are used against armored vehicles
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
"In the Kharkiv region, during special operations, our soldiers captured modern Russian engineering weapons - PTKM-1R. These are Russian anti-tank mines used by the occupiers against the armored vehicles of the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine," the Armed Forces noted.
Reference: PTKM-1R is an anti-tank mine of the Russian Federation, which was presented abroad for the first time in November-December 2021. Unlike conventional anti-tank mines, it attacks vehicles from above. In the case of approaching vehicles, the seismic sensor gives a command to fire the combat element. It moves along a ballistic trajectory, and the warhead's sensors scan the ground. After detecting the target, the warhead detonates and hits the target from above.
