No more talk of “ending the war in 24 hours”: politician explains shift in Trump team's tone
Serhiy Dzherdzh, who heads the Ukraine-NATO Public League believes that Donald Trump’s team is now taking a closer look at the realities of the war and weighing the positions of all sides before possible negotiations
Speaking on Espreso, Dzherdzh shared his perspective.
"If we're talking about the THAAD air defense system, I don’t see any major obstacles for the Trump administration to provide such systems to Ukraine," Dzherdzh said. "The only sticking point might be the cost. But since THAAD is purely defensive, its transfer to Ukraine wouldn’t lead to any escalation."
According to Dzherdzh, Trump’s team is now seriously analyzing Russia’s strategies, which could positively influence the future U.S. president’s decisions on supporting Ukraine.

"Let’s be honest: nobody’s mentioning 'ending the war in 24 hours' anymore. Neither Trump nor his advisors are saying it. It’s clear now that this was just campaign talk. At this stage, the Trump team seems to be carefully studying the realities on the ground and each side’s stance. They’re taking their time to dig into Russia’s actual plans. This approach could lead to more balanced decisions about U.S. and NATO support for Ukraine," he added.
