Ukrainian air defenses down 50 of 73 Russian drones in latest attack
On the night and morning of Sunday, November 24, Russian forces launched a drone attack on Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders managed to shoot down 50 Russian drones

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the attack began at 00:30, with Shahed drones and other unidentified UAVs launched from Russia’s Oryol and Bryansk regions.
A total of 73 Russian drones were detected and tracked. Ukrainian aviation, air defense missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups were deployed to counter the attack.
By 09:00, air defense systems had shot down 50 drones across Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Zhytomyr regions. Another 19 drones were lost, likely due to active countermeasures by Ukraine's electronic warfare units. Four enemy drones remain in the air, and combat operations are ongoing.
