Ukrainian Air Force spokesman names reason for air alert in Ukraine during US President Biden's visit
The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has explained why an air raid alert has been triggered in Ukraine during the visit of US President Joe Biden to Kyiv
This was announced by the spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ihnat on the United News national telethon.
He noted that the air alert in Ukraine was announced due to the takeoff of a Russian Mig-31 fighter jet.
"A standard, typical situation in Ukraine: Mig-3, which can carry Kinzhal hypersonic missiles — missiles that we cannot shoot down. They know it perfectly well, everyone knows it," Ihnat said.
He noted that Russia was also able to learn about Biden's visit to Ukraine. However, Ihnat emphasized that the air alert and the visit of the US president should not be linked, as Russian Mig-31s cause trouble every day in the form of alerts or even strikes. He recalled that it was a Kinzhal missile that struck Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia a few weeks ago.
"We remember the visit of the US President to Poland. There was also a provocation by Russia then," Ihnat emphasized.
