Ukrainian Air Force Command spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat tells when Ukrainians will find out that Patriots are in use
Yuriy Ihnat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, said that Ukraine expects to receive US Patriot systems in the near future
Yuriy Ihnat said this during a telethon.
"Of course, Patriot will be in Ukraine, the decision has been made, people are training. We expect it in the near future. Indeed, there are applications for training. Indeed, it will take place," said the spokesman.
Ihnat emphasized that Ukrainians will learn about the Patriot when Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk tests the system while driving, as he did with the IRIS-T, or when they tell about the first enemy aircraft to be shot down by air defense.
"Patriot is capable of shooting down targets at a distance of up to 150 km, aerodynamic targets. Ballistic targets are less - 40 km. So let's be patient and wait for this news to really be in Ukraine," added the spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
