Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces: HIMARS makes Russian forces feel uneasy
Yehor Firsov, the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine fighter, told Espreso TV that American HIMARS helped the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike the positions of the Russian invaders as far as 50 km from the contact line
"I joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in May. At that time, if the enemy was 30–50 km from the contact line, they were considered to be in the rear. Nothing we had could reach them, except for Smerch and Uragan MRL systems. The systems, however, are not precise and quite outdated. And the enemy felt at ease, placed there their ammunition storages, logistics centers, etc. Now, of course, when we have HIMARS systems the enemy does not feel so comfortable anywhere, not even 50 km from the contact line," he said .
The fighter said that fierce battles are taking place in the direction of Bakhmut. Russia is losing hundreds of its soldiers and does not intend on bringing their bodies back to Russia.
"The enemy, of course, doesn’t provide accurate information on their losses. But believe me, in the direction of Bakhmut, there are hundreds of bodies of Russian soldiers that no one is taking away, and, most likely, never will. I myself have seen this terrible reality. Some bodies are already difficult to recognize. The only things left of them are bones and clothes that are also decomposing," he added.
