Ukraine will be able to hit targets at 1,500 kilometer distance – top security official
Ukraine has been working on its own missile program and drones for a long time, so hitting targets in Russia, which are located even 1,500 kilometers away, is no longer a problem
This was stated by Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), on Ukrainian Radio.
"The nationality of the weapons used on the territory of the Russian Federation is Ukrainian. There are two areas that have been worked out for a certain period of time: the missile program, which was approved back in 2020, to create our own Ukrainian missiles, and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, which are being deployed very effectively in our country today with the involvement of a large number of private companies," the NSDC head said.
Danilov added that "all this will bring results," as Ukrainian troops will be able to hit targets 700 and even 1,000-1,500 kilometers away.
He emphasized that Ukraine attacks only Russian military targets, and that bombings of oil refineries or other facilities are the work of Russian partisans, whom Ukraine does not control.
"We are attacking either factories or military production - components that kill our children. We have to put an end to this," Danilov summarized.
- On August 26, Danilov said that the S-400 Triumph launcher was destroyed in Crimea on August 23 with the help of a new Ukrainian missile, which proved to be "absolutely flawless".
