At the same time, the country will purchase drones for Ukraine in cooperation with Belgium and the Netherlands, and will continue to support Ukraine by delivering much-needed equipment.

On the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed 140 soldiers and an enemy field supply point.

This was reported by the Southern Defense Forces.

The Command noted that the Defense Forces continue to inflict fire on Russian locations, firing positions and rear areas.

Ukraine's drones attack airbase in Engels at night

On the night of March 20, drones attacked the Russian city of Engels, where a military airfield is located. Ukrainian intelligence was involved in this special operation.

This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, RBC-Ukraine, and NV, citing their own sources.

"The Ukrainian-made unmanned 'kamikaze' drone Lutyi is performing well. The demilitarization and decommunization of Engels will continue," the source said. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the alleged downing of the drones.

"Last night, the Kyiv regime's attempts to carry out terrorist attacks on targets in the Russian Federation using aircraft-type UAVs were stopped," the statement says.

It is noted that Russian air defense destroyed one drone over the Belgorod region and 4 more over the Saratov region.

Governor Roman Busargin and the Russian Telegram channel SHOT announced the downing over the Saratov region.

At 04:22 a.m., Busargin said that less than an hour ago, the Russian air defense system allegedly shot down a UAV over Engels.

According to him, there were no casualties and no damage to infrastructure during the fall of the debris.

The SHOT Telegram channel writes that before the powerful explosions that allegedly occurred in Engels, residents allegedly heard the sound of an engine in the sky.

SHOT writes, citing eyewitnesses, that 2 to 4 loud explosions were allegedly heard in the city, which "made the windows in the frames tremble.”

On March 20, the European Commission transferred €4.5 billion to Ukraine. This is the first tranche of macro-financial assistance from a large support package worth €50 billion.

"Today we have also made the first disbursement of €4.5 billion under the Ukraine Facility, our €50 billion package to support Ukraine's recovery, reconstruction and modernization," he said.

Tomorrow, the European Council will discuss how to speed up Ukraine's accession to the EU, the diplomat added.

In his turn, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Oliver Varghese said that the second tranche should "fall" in April.

The US imposes sanctions on Russians who spread fake news about Ukraine in Latin America

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the US Treasury Department.

The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on two individuals and two legal entities for services they provided to the government of the Russian Federation.

They were engaged in a campaign to spread malicious influence abroad.

Treasury Under Secretary for Counterterrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson said that the United States is committed to exposing large-scale campaigns conducted by Russia at the direction of the government that are designed to mislead voters and undermine confidence in democratic institutions in the United States and around the world.

Political strategist and founder of the Agency for Social Design and Structura, Ilya Gambashidze, and Structura CEO Nikolai Tupikin were subject to US sanctions.

The United States believes that starting in the fall of 2022, Gambashidze and Tupikin launched a network of more than 60 websites that spread false information about the war in Ukraine and information discrediting US and NATO policies on the continent in Latin America.
