Ukraine receives German howitzers
This is the sixth type of 155-mm artillery to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability.
Ukraine’s Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov shared the update.
"The German Panzerhaubitze 2000 (abbreviated PzH 2000 - Ed) with trained Ukrainian crews have appeared in the Ukrainian artillery family. Our soldiers are already fighting the enemy with the help of M777, FH70, M109, AHS Krab and Caesar. From now on, the PzH 2000 has joined this ‘club of the best’.
"As always, the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, General Valery Zaluzhny, will use them with 100% efficiency on the battlefield. Of course, a special huge thank you to our gunners, who have already become world legends. I would also like to thank the German partners for their support, which we continue to count on," the minister wrote.
The self-propelled PzH 2000 howitzer is a 155 mm cannon on a crawler chassis, created on the basis of the Leopard-2 tank. It was adopted by the Bundeswehr in fall 1998. Germany and the Netherlands agreed to supply the PzH 2000 to Ukraine.
