Ukraine does not need to respond to every statement from Budapest – ex-Foreign Minister of Ukraine
A little bit of humor regarding all these Hungarian statements wouldn’t do any harm – one should respond to Orbán's statements sarcastically
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin stated this on Espreso.
The former minister suggested that reacting to every statement that comes from Budapest is unnecessary, as it only fuels a never-ending cycle of offensive remarks. Instead, he proposed responding with humor, which could be more effective in political practice than putting those who constantly speak negatively in their place.
Klimkin stated that Orbán wants to receive money from Brussels that he does not get now, as the Hungarian system does not align with EU norms. Orbán criticizes Ukraine once a week or two, making derogatory remarks such as referring to it as an "economically non-existent country". Klimkin believes that responding with creative sarcasm to all of Orbán's statements could be beneficial.
