UK to provide Ukraine with three more HIMARS-like multiple-launch rocket systems - Ben Wallace
UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has announced that the UK will send Ukraine three more rocket launch systems and missiles for them.
This is reported by the BBC.
So far, Britain has already provided three launchers similar to the US HIMARS systems. They use the same missiles with a range of up to 80 kilometers.
Defense Secretary Ben Wallace confirmed to the BBC that he would send three more to Ukraine, as well as a "significant" number of missiles to them.
According to him, these high-precision weapons are already helping Ukraine destroy Russian ammunition depots and command centers.
Wallace said this in Copenhagen, where he is participating in an international conference with allies who promise to continue military and financial support for Ukraine.
He said Britain was "very pleased" with Ukraine's use of missile launchers already provided by the West. According to him, the Ukrainian forces have shown that they are much better at deciding which targets to hit so that they do not run out of ammunition quickly. Wallace noted that this is part of Ukraine's transition from using old Soviet-era weapons to more modern NATO weapons.
"Our continued support sends a very clear message: Britain and the international community remain opposed to this illegal war and will stand side by side in providing defensive military assistance to Ukraine to help it defend itself against Putin's invasion," the British minister said.
