Over 85 million tonnes of cargo transported through Ukrainian sea corridor
More than 85 million tonnes of cargo have been transported through the Ukrainian Black Sea corridor despite constant Russian attack on the port infrastructure
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).
‘The Ukrainian corridor continues to demonstrate its efficiency and reliability, even in the most difficult conditions of war. As of today, more than 85 million tonnes of cargo have been transported through the corridor, of which 56.7 million tonnes of grain have been successfully exported to ensure global food security,’ the statement said.
It is noted that in total, more than 3,000 vessels have used the corridor since its opening.
‘Despite constant shelling, air raids and forced work stoppages, port workers continue to perform their tasks with maximum efficiency. Their work is the foundation of stability that supports Ukraine's economy and ensures communication with the world. Each tonne of cargo is another step towards a joint victory on the economic front and support for global food stability,’ the USPA added.
