This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).

‘The Ukrainian corridor continues to demonstrate its efficiency and reliability, even in the most difficult conditions of war. As of today, more than 85 million tonnes of cargo have been transported through the corridor, of which 56.7 million tonnes of grain have been successfully exported to ensure global food security,’ the statement said.

It is noted that in total, more than 3,000 vessels have used the corridor since its opening.

‘Despite constant shelling, air raids and forced work stoppages, port workers continue to perform their tasks with maximum efficiency. Their work is the foundation of stability that supports Ukraine's economy and ensures communication with the world. Each tonne of cargo is another step towards a joint victory on the economic front and support for global food stability,’ the USPA added.

What is known about the work of the sea corridor

On July 17, 2023, Russia announced the termination of the grain deal. In response, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the grain corridor should continue to цщкл, even despite Russia's withdrawal from the agreement.

On August 4, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that Ukraine would send ships with its own grain to wherever it deems necessary and would not ask anyone for permission.

On August 10, the Ukrainian Navy announced a temporary humanitarian corridor for merchant ships sailing to and from Ukrainian ports.

On August 16, the first ship left the port of Odesa after Russia announces that it will terminate the grain deal.

On November 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine intends to remain a guarantor of food security for many countries, including those on the African continent.

As of 10 March 2024, 1,005 ships left Ukrainian Black Sea ports. They delivered about 30 million tonnes of cargo to world markets.

On September 18, President Zelenskyy said that over 2,500 ships had left Ukrainian ports during the year of the sea corridor's operation, carrying 70 million tonnes of cargo.

On October 14, the Russian occupation army attacked Odesa's port infrastructure with a ballistic missile. As a result, a person was killed and 8 people were injured. Two civilian vessels were also damaged. However, the Ministry of Infrastructure assured that the shelling did not affect the operation of the sea corridor.

In early November, it was reported that more than 80 million tonnes of cargo were transported through the Ukrainian sea corridor.
