No threat of Russian river crossing near Antonivskyi Bridge in Kherson region – military spokesman
In the area near the Antonivskyi Bridge, which connects Kherson with the left bank of the Dnipro, Russian forces are carrying out small infantry forcing actions, though there is no indication of a major offensive
Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, discussed the situation during the United News telethon.
"They are training, but these are small infantry units, part of a squad, conducting forcing actions," Voloshyn explained. "They’re also using riverboats from their Dnipro flotilla in these drills. They are attempting to carry out assault operations with small infantry groups on land and will likely try to do the same in the river and island zones of the Dnipro."
Voloshyn added that fighting continues around Kruhlyk Island and near the Antonivskyi Bridge, where Russian forces are trying to assess Ukraine's defensive positions.
"The situation in this area has escalated over the past 2-3 weeks, with several combat clashes occurring daily. However, I don’t believe they’ll attempt a large-scale river crossing. The operation to force a water barrier is highly complex, requiring significant resources, and our intelligence would detect such a buildup," Voloshyn concluded.
- On November 27, the Russian forces once again attacked the settlements of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson. Eight people were wounded.
