UK admiral Radakin assesses impact of Kherson liberation on war with Russia
UK Defense Staff Chief Admiral Tony Radakin, urged against rushing to conclusions about a turning point in the war after the liberation of Kherson.
Radakin said this in an interview with the BBC.
According to him, the liberation of Kherson was another proof of the determination of Ukrainians to liberate their country from occupation.
"We see the constant failures of Russia, and we see the constant successes of Ukraine - the determination to return our country. Our task is to support Ukraine, to support it politically, diplomatically, militarily," Radakin said.
He expressed his belief that Russia will lose the war against Ukraine, but warned against rushing to call the liberation of Kherson a turning point.
"This is a messy, protracted, conflict and the likelihood is that it will continue to be a messy, protracted conflict. Kherson is a significant gain but there will be ebbs and flows throughout this war," Radakin said.
When asked whether Ukraine should sit down at the negotiating table after the liberation of Kherson, he answered that this decision should be made by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"We've got to be respectful - and acknowledge that it's President Zelensky who's going to determine for his nation when is the right negotiating point," Radakin emphasized.
