Third round of prisoner exchange talks with Russia took place in Ankara
The third round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia on the prisoner of war exchange and release of civilian hostages took place in Turkey on January 12
This was reported by Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
"For more than 2 hours we discussed humanitarian issues. In particular, the initiative to accelerate and deepen the return of our prisoners of war and the release of civilian hostages," he wrote.
According to him, among the civilian hostages, there are the following categories:

158 people were detained by Russia from 2014 to February 24, 2022, including in the occupied Crimea,
-
detained on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions (373 people);
-
civilian hostages that Russia has detained and is detaining in the territories that were temporarily or are under Russian occupation since February 24, 2022. This is more than 20 thousand people.
"During the communication, it was agreed that the Russian Federation, on the basis of the Geneva Conventions, would consider a proposal for the repatriation of wounded servicemen," Lubinets wrote.
Lubinets recalled that on January 13, Turkish President Erdogan intends to talk with Russian President Putin, and on January 14 he will talk with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the opening of a humanitarian corridor, in particular for the exchange of wounded and civilians.
