Symbolism of Biden's visit is more important than 700 tanks
For Russians, the arrival of the American president in Kyiv has become an existential problem. Even more than the escape from Kherson and Kharkiv
The reason for this problem, which lies on the surface, is the "Kyiv in Three Days" failed plan.
But I think this visit opens a much deeper wound. Biden, who in Russian mass consciousness is an "old man with dementia," showed the entire Russian people by his arrival that no one else in the world is afraid of them. On the eve of Putin's great and meaningless message, he said to the whole world : "No one is afraid of you anymore, with your iskanders, six thousand nuclear warheads, Prigozhin's sledgehammers and cross processions."
On the eve of Putin's great and meaningless message, he said to the whole world: "No one is afraid of you anymore, with your iskanders, six thousand nuclear warheads, Prigozhin's sledgehammers and cross processions."
And this symbolic gesture (the middle finger) was understood by everyone in the most remote and neglected villages. The people realized: their feet were wiped on them. Now Russians are waiting to hear what Putin will say in response. And you can be sure that he will either remain silent or make a primitive joke. He won't be able to make some threats, even say something about “Kuzka’s mother” in the way Khrushchev (whom he hates) did.
And this symbolic part of Biden's visit is no less important for our war than the promised 700 tanks.
