Surprise Russia on the battlefield: Markarova on missiles that can accurately hit targets up to 300 km away
Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova has said that Kyiv is discussing with Washington all the possible options for new weapons supplies.
Markarova stated this in an interview with Radio Liberty.
When asked whether there is a possibility of providing Ukraine with missiles with a range of up to 300 km to the HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems, she replied that all capabilities are being discussed with the United States.
"From the very beginning of this phase of the war, all requests from the Ukrainian side are aimed not only at what we need right now on the battlefield, but also our plans and our understanding of what we will need in the future. Therefore, we are discussing with our partners, I will not go into details here, as we say, we would rather surprise the Russians with something on the battlefield, but we are discussing all capabilities," Markarova said.
She added that Ukraine is constantly working to obtain new types of weapons.
"Both the Minister of Defense and General Zaluzhny are very active at their level, we and the military attaché of the embassy are working very actively on an almost daily basis to increase both the amount of what we already receive and to obtain new capabilities. This is the number one priority that both President Zelenskyi and Minister Kuleba put before all diplomats. Therefore, more in quantity and quality is a priority we are constantly working on," Markarova assured.
