The Azov soldiers, who are currently in Turkey, cannot return home yet, because this is a condition for the further release of other Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) from Russian captivity

He said this on Espreso TV.

"The very stay of the Azov soldiers in Turkey, and not their return home, is a guarantee that we can talk about the further return of our boys and girls from captivity. As we saw yesterday, an additional number of our prisoners of war were released. This is also one of the stages of exchange and release. Of course, this was a negotiated condition and now our guys are here in quite comfortable conditions, under the protection of Turkey," Vasyl Bodnar said.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey noted that Azov soldiers are completely safe.

"In special conditions, so that there are no threats to their safety and their families. Their very safety is the main thing for us today. Unfortunately, today there is no such possibility for them to communicate with the outside world, but this is not a problem for their lives and health or their stay in Turkey," he added.
