Russia's military defeat: French MEP announces strategic goal of war in Ukraine
If our goal is the strategic defeat of Russia, then today we are not doing enough, says Rafaël Glucksmann.
The French member of the European Parliament made a statement in a comment to Guildhall.
"Everyone in the EU understands that if Ukraine is defeated, then Europe will be defeated. But the question is, do we want Russia to lose? Our strategic goal should be the defeat of the Russian army in Ukraine," said Rafaël Glucksmann. "If our goal is the strategic defeat of Russia, then today we are not doing enough, we should do much more and much faster. If we have another goal, then we are in big trouble. After all, until the Russian army is defeated in Ukraine and faces the consequences of its own crimes, we will have even more crimes, wars and destruction, even more dangers and threats to our economies, and even more tragedies."
"First of all, what has been said from the beginning is, yes, we will not go to war with Russia directly, so we must do everything we can to help Ukraine win this war. This means the adoption of much more serious sanctions, including full and immediate embargo on gas and energy resources. This means much more personal sanctions, confiscation of their assets and transfer to Ukraine. And it also means much more military aid to Ukraine," the French MEP explained.
