Russia’s demarche is directed at Turkey. We should expect reaction from Syria, Libya and Caucasus - political scientist Ramiz Yunus
The demarche of the Russian Federation is primarily aimed at Turkey, not the whole world, and we should expect a reaction from the South Caucasus, Syria and Libya, political scientist Ramiz Yunus says
This was stated by political scientist and international policy expert Ramiz Yunus on Espreso TV.
"Russia's demarche is directed not so much against the whole world and Ukraine, but primarily against Turkey, since the main guarantor here is Turkey, not the UN. Here, the main guarantors are Russia and Turkey, and the UN is used as an official political screen. And when you question the authority of the guarantor, Turkey and its president personally, one should expect a reaction that may well manifest itself from the Black Sea - Syria, Libya and the South Caucasus," he emphasized.
According to him, it was no accident that Azerbaijan refused the Russian plan to regulate the conflict and Russia took a step back after the telephone conversation. Also, the Russian Federation withdrew from the agreement with the UN and Turkey, but Ukraine did not. Yes, possible Russian provocations will be directed primarily against Turkey, which is not beneficial for the Russians due to their isolation from the world.
"That's why I had no doubt that in the end they would make this decision - precisely because in this situation it is not profitable for Russia to tease the geese. It's just that the "grain agreement" fits into the context of Putin's blackmail policy. First the Chornobyl NPP, then Zaporizhzhia, then the prisoners from Mariupol, followed by the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, a "dirty bomb". Such moments are thrown into the information field to influence public opinion in the West, so that they pressure Ukraine and force it to sit down at the negotiating table. Because it is vitally important for the Putin regime today to sit down to the negotiating table, because there are no other options to save face, to "sell" something on the domestic market," said Ramiz Yunus.
According to the political scientist, since Ukraine is gradually liberating its territories, Vladimir Putin is in a hurry to start negotiations before winter, and then attack with new forces.
