Russian airstrike destroys apartment building in Ukraine’s Sumy region, kills three civilians

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office reported this information.

According to the investigation, on February 6 at approximately 11:20 p.m., the Russians dropped, according to preliminary data, three guided aerial bombs on a two-story residential apartment building in the village of Myropillia, Sumy district. As a result of the enemy attack, three people were killed—their bodies were recovered from the rubble.

Law enforcement officials are documenting the aftermath of the shelling, and the prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case for war crimes.

Earlier, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported the attack.

"Yesterday, on February 6, late in the evening, a Russian aircraft launched three guided bombs at the Myropillia community. As a result of the Russian attack, a two-story residential building was destroyed," the statement says.

According to preliminary information, two people were killed. Their bodies were found during the debris removal.

"Search and rescue operations are ongoing. It is likely that there may still be people under the rubble," the Regional Military Administration noted.
