U.S. Special Representative Keith Kellogg says that the chance of Ukraine regaining nuclear state status is "between slim and none"

He stated this in an interview with Fox News.
The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that if the US cannot guarantee a quick path to NATO membership, there are alternative security options Kyiv could consider – nuclear weapons.
"The chance of them getting their nuclear weapons back is somewhere between slim and none. Let's be honest about it, we both know that’s not going to happen," said Kellogg.
"Remember, the president said we're a government of common sense. When somebody says something like that, look at the outcome or the potential. That's using your common sense," he emphasized.
- Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced that giving up nuclear weapons should have only been in exchange for real security guarantees, which at the time were NATO.
