Russians will suffice for year and half, Ukraine will destroy their equipment - NGU Major
Oleksiy Hetman, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Major of Ukrainian National Guard, commented on the Nikkei Asia publication that Putin assured Xi Jinping during his visit in March that Russia's war against Ukraine could last five years
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"If we mathematically calculate the number of weapons that Russians can produce, it will end in a year or a year and a half, right at zero. In particular, we are talking about shells, tanks, airplanes, armored vehicles," he said.
There is a negative balance. That is, if we summarize the number of weapons left by the Russians and the number destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a daily basis, then this year and next year everything will be reduced to zero. For example, there will be no tanks left at all, Hetman said.
"Today, Russia has about 3 thousand tanks in service. They had 15,000 tanks in their warehouses, and no more than 5,000 of them can be repaired, because they create one out of three tanks. Out of these 5,000, they have transferred about 2,000 tanks there, so they can still add a maximum of 3,000 tanks. Their industry can produce about 20 tanks a month. They can also transport about 50 tanks from so-called warehouses. That is, in total, they can supply about 70 tanks per month to the front line. In turn, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy more than 2,000 tanks a month," he summarized.
Therefore, it is inappropriate to talk about 5 years. Perhaps Putin was referring to some other kind of war, without tanks, guns and shells. For example, we can fight on media platforms. Russians can tell things on their propaganda channels that are not true at all.
