Russians who come to Latvia can not change in one generation
It is necessary to carry out educational work among Russians so that they do not try to teach their neighbors how to live. This will enable them to change
Latvian Minister of Justice Janis Bordans stated live on air of Espreso TV channel.
"There is a question of education and upbringing. We need various educational exhibitions, academic and scientific conferences. We in Latvia have been counting damage from Soviet Union occupation for several years. Such measures can force and give opportunity to Russians to change. It is doubtful that it will be possible to change within one generation," he said.
According to Bordans, it is difficult to change well-formed person who teaches whole world and is used to telling his neighbors how to live.
"They may even understand that they are guests here and say they will return to Russia when everything changes there. I don't know who believes that Russia will change and how they will live here. It will probably take decades for them to understand," minister concluded.
