This was reported by Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov.
The mayor stressed that Russians are intensifying terror in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region.
"Russian forces have created a reservation from the occupied territories, restricting the freedom of movement of residents," Fedorov said.
Particularly, in the settlements of Vasyliv and Polohy districts Russian soldiers impose a twenty-four-hour curfew. At the same time, some villages of Yakymivka district are completely closed for entry and exit.
Russian forces continue to place checkpoints and arrange filtration on the central streets of Melitopol.
In addition, Ukrainians have not been able to leave the temporarily occupied territory for two weeks and the Russian forces have closed the road toward Zaporizhzhia.
Disguised representatives of Russian special services in crowded places, eavesdrop on conversations and ask provocative questions.
"Russian forces see and are afraid of the fact that even after 10 months of occupation, Ukrainians are showing strong resistance. The Russian forces are trying to silence the locals with terror. However, they do not understand that our land and our people will never become part of the "Russian world," Fedorov added.

Ivan Fedorov noted that the occupiers are making Melitopol a fortress, which they seem to be going to hold until the end. It is impossible to enter or leave the city.
