Russians cannot be released from Dnipro river's right bank - Zgurets

Serhiy Zgurets, director of Defense Express, noted that Ukrainian efforts reduce the ability of Russians to hold both banks of the Dnipro river

He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel

“Kherson region is an intrigue that is connected with assessments of the actions of Russian troops on the right bank. Because we were led by the conclusions of British intelligence that Russians leave the right bank and will surrender, but we see a different reality. Under cover of this deportation of the Ukrainian population, rotation of Russian units takes place. Artillery is transferred to the left bank, as Ukrainian intelligence said, and landing units and marines remain on the right bank and try to prepare Kherson for defense. Dynamics in this area continue to intrigue. On the other hand, the constant work of our HIMARS and artillery push Russians either to abandon these positions or to surrender. But I see that arguments are not yet sufficient for them to make such a decision,” Zgurets said.

According to him, now Russians try to build a line of defense along the left bank of the Dnipro river. As expected, artillery from the right bank will go there to support units that remain on the right bank from the left bank.

“As soon as this area of Russian defense on the right bank is narrowed, then Ukrainian barrel artillery, not just HIMARS, comes into play.  Because HIMARS can reach far, but it doesn't make sense to use them for a significant number of targets, that's where artillery should work. We squeeze this zone that Russians occupy on the right bank, artillery comes into action and they have no choice but to surrender or swim to the left bank, where they prepare a new line of defense,” Zgurets emphasized.

He noted that Ukrainian efforts in conjunction with HIMARS significantly reduce the ability of Russian groups to hold onto both right and left banks of the Dnipro River. But it is still necessary to make efforts to convey this to them in a living or dead version.

“I am a supporter of the fact that Russians cannot be released from the right bank because there they must either surrender or die. According to the version of the head of Ukrainian intelligence, part of the Russian units may go to strengthen the group in the Zaporizhzhia region, and another version is that part of the units will be transferred to Belarus, where Russians will create new threats to Ukraine. Accordingly, Russians should not be given the opportunity to strengthen certain sections of the front,” shares Zgurets.
