Russian' warehouses are washed away, ammunition washed into sea on left bank of Kherson region - Humeniuk
Natalia Humeniuk said that due to the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station on the left bank of the Kherson region, Russian warehouses were washed away, and the enemy's ammunition washed into the sea, which could be washed up on the shores.
This was stated by the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine during a telethon.
She spoke about the dangerous situation in the region, as the defence lines previously built by the enemy were washed away by water, and Russian occupiers' ammunition and weapons got into the sea downstream. Humeniuk emphasises the danger of the situation, as all these explosive devices can be washed up on the shores.
"The occupiers were building several defence lines on the left bank of the Kherson region, including minefields, which consisted of several rows of mines with different types of mines. Among these lines of defence, positions were also set up - when the first floodwater flooded their dugouts and trenches, they lost some of their personnel and weapons. Their field ammunition depots were also located in this 5-15 km strip that was flooded on the Left Bank, and they were also washed away, with ammunition boxes floating downstream. All of this is now scattered across the flooded area and may pose a danger," she said.
Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov said that river mines from the part of Kherson region flooded by Russian forces, which are being washed to the beaches of Odesa, will be destroyed on the spot.
