Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, and Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported the information.

"Five people have been killed and nine injured in yet another Russian ballistic attack on the port infrastructure of the Odesa region," Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated. "All the victims are Ukrainian. They are currently receiving medical treatment, with five in serious condition."

Kuleba also reported that a civilian vessel, the Panamanian-flagged container ship Shui Spirit, was damaged in the attack. This marks the third foreign vessel targeted by Russia in the past four days, he added.

"Today, Ukraine remains a guarantor of global food security. It is crucial to end this terror through sufficient arms supplies, air defense, diplomacy, sanctions, and accountability for every war crime," emphasized Kuleba.

Later, Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported that the death toll had risen to six, with eight others wounded. All are receiving necessary medical assistance, he confirmed.

“The insidious enemy is trying to disrupt the work of the Ukrainian grain corridor, killing civilians and destroying infrastructure. Law enforcement agencies are documenting another crime of the Russians,” he said.

Later, the head of the Regional Military Administration added that the number of wounded had increased to 11 people. Seven people are in serious condition.

On the morning of October 10, Oleh Kiper reported that the death toll had increased to 7. A 46-year-old port employee died in the hospital.

“Doctors did their best, but the wounds were too severe,” Kiper said.

Kiper later reported that a 26-year-old man died in the hospital. Therefore, the death toll from the strike increased to 8.

  • On the night of October 6, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the port of Pivdennyi, Odesa region. A civilian ship carrying food for export was damaged.
