Ukrainian forces clear Russian positions in Kursk region, seize key trophies
Soldiers with Ukraine’s 8th Regiment of the Special Forces, during special operations in the Kursk region, cleared Russian positions and captured important trophies
Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces Command shared the information.
During the battle, Special Operations Forces operators neutralized two North Korean soldiers. Additionally, they used drone strikes to eliminate seven Russian soldiers and wound ten more.
Ukrainian forces also seized personal protective gear and military equipment from the occupying troops, including a DL-5 rangefinder, a 1PN139-1 thermal imaging sight, an AK-12 assault rifle with a 1P87 sight, and communications gear that could contain valuable information on Russian forces’ movements and plans. Russian documents were also recovered.
“The trophies, including equipment and documents, will provide important information about the enemy's tactics and resources,” the statement said.
