Musk's backing of German far-right driven by business interests
Global chaos leads to seemingly illogical connections. At first glance, these links defy traditional logic
Take Elon Musk, for example, who advocates for the right-wing (or more accurately, far-right) "Alternative for Germany." It's worth noting that German society, particularly this "right-wing" segment, is inherently anti-American. Twenty years ago, such "cooperation" would have seemed impossible.
However, Musk's advocacy now seems more like a business investment than an ideological play, as political analysts increasingly attribute to him.
As we know, when Musk began constructing the Tesla factory near Berlin, he encountered not the expected support from local residents but a wave of protests, ranging from eco-activists to leftist radical groups, who accused Tesla of damaging the region's ecological environment. To this day, the expansion of the plant remains uncertain. Perhaps this is what motivates Musk to hope that the AfD can defend his interests.
Moreover, if there are no prospects for expansion in Germany, Musk is planning to build a similar factory in Italy. And there, by the way, he is welcome. But not because the prime minister is right-wing Meloni, but because, from a business perspective, he can get the necessary benefits.
Therefore, we can hardly talk about classical politics here. It's just business.
