Border communities in Chernihiv region face constant shelling, drone attacks
Over the past six months, the Russian army has begun to attack civilians with FPV drones in border communities more often
The Chernihiv Regional Military Administration has identified the communities in the region that are most frequently targeted by Russian shelling.
"The most shelling occurs in the border communities of the Chernihiv region," the administration reported.
Specifically, the enemy often targets the Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovsk, and Horodnia communities. "These communities are under constant fire due to their proximity to the border with the Russian Federation," the statement noted.
The administration emphasized that these attacks are part of the enemy's strategy to destabilize and terrorize the local population. "The Russian forces deliberately shell civilian infrastructure, residential areas, and critical facilities," officials added.
“Also, over the past six months, the enemy has been using FVP drones in the border communities of the region and attacking civilians, their cars and homes. The enemy sees where their drones are flying and purposefully attacks civilians,” said Andriy Podorvan, an advisor to the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration.
According to Podorvan, since the beginning of the year, 11 civilians have been injured in Russian attacks with FPV drones in border communities
“Yesterday, Russians attacked a 43-year-old man in the border village of Semenivka community. This man was attacked with an FPV drone. He was wounded, hospitalized, treated and now sent home for outpatient treatment. This time he was lucky that his injuries were not serious,” he said.
