Capture of Velyka Novosilka, Kurakhove poses risk of losing southern Donetsk region - military analyst
Military observer Denys Popovych spoke about the situation in Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
The Russians claim to have captured Velyka Novosilka, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to avoid encirclement.
“The Ukrainian army needs to retreat to prepared positions and continue to hold the southern part of the Donetsk region. The loss of Velyka Novosilka, as well as Kurakhove earlier (which, by the way, has not been officially confirmed by the Ukrainian General Staff), creates a threat to the security of the southern Donetsk region. This is dangerous and lays the groundwork for a potential advance toward Zaporizhzhia if the enemy has the necessary resources for such an operation,” military observer Popovych stated.
