Artifacts Russian forces stole from Ukraine surface on the international black market
Artifacts stolen by the Russian army in Ukraine have begun to appear on the international black market
Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin reported this information on October 6.
"In addition to the systematic destruction of cultural heritage, Russia is committing another crime in Ukraine - the theft of cultural property. These artifacts, stolen from our museums and archaeological sites, are now surfacing on the international black market. We have gathered enough evidence to initiate new criminal proceedings for these crimes," Kostin stated.

He also mentioned that through close cooperation with colleagues from the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General's Office has collected all the necessary information regarding this category of crimes.
"Based on the information we received, we established a special unit within my office. This unit not only investigates cases of cultural heritage destruction due to shelling but also those involving the illegal sale of our cultural heritage abroad," Kostin added.
