Russian troops try to reinforce Kupyansk direction - Zgurets
Serhiy Zgurets, CEO of Defense Express military expert group, noted that Russian forces are trying to create a threat from the north.
He said this on Espreso TV channel.
"Luhansk region is one of the areas for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to advance. Our long-range systems have been striking deep into the Luhansk region, at the concentration of Russian equipment and warehouses. This dynamic creates tension for Russian troops, but the Russians are not ready to withdraw from their positions. In the area of Kupyansk, using supplies from Troitske, the enemy is trying to saturate this section of the frontline with its own forces to the maximum extent possible, and Russian counteroffensives in these areas are not ruled out," noted Zgurets.
The military expert also added that the expected directions of Russian army actions in the next two months are Donetsk and Luhansk directions and Russians attempt to create a threat from the north, from the Kupyansk area.
"That's why significant groups of Russian forces are now moving there. Units that were being trained in Belarus are now also moving to the borders of the Luhansk region in order to have a reserve of forces," Zgurets added.
