Ukrainian Intelligence does not exclude Russian offensive in Kupiansk sector

This was stated by the deputy head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Vadym Skibitskyi in an interview with Ukrinform.

"There will be active combat operations in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions. (Commander of the Russian forces in Ukraine Valery, - ed.) Gerasimov did not fulfill the task that was set before him. The first is the complete occupation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," he noted.

Skibitskyi noted that the escalation in this direction is predicted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications for February-March.

"We are still seeing the transfer of the 2nd Mechanized Division of the 1st Tank Army from Belarus," he noted.

"We do not rule out that they may again try to enter our territory through the border in the Kupiansk direction. It is also possible to resume offensive actions with the aim of returning to control the territories previously captured by the enemy in the Luhansk region," added the major general.  

• Earlier, Skibitskyi claimed negotiations with Russia are possible only after the liberation of all occupied territories.
