This was reported by the National Resistance Center (NRC).
The invaders have taken 3.5 thousand convicts from prisons in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
"Prisoners were transported to Crimea against their will, where Wagnerites are now campaigning to join their terrorist organization. However, most of them refuse to sign a contract and because of their refusal, the Russian invaders have created unbearable conditions for them," the Center emphasized.
The authors noted that these are prisoners who were accused of criminal offenses under Ukrainian law before the full-scale invasion. "Instead, the Russian forces continue to hold Ukrainians suspected of disloyalty to the authorities in basements.”
- Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov reported that the Kremlin had issued an order to establish 28 prisons in the temporarily occupied territories, including 2 penal colonies and a settlement colony.
- The General Staff also reported that Russia was preparing for the covert mobilization of local residents in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea.
