Russian forces shell Nova Kakhovka from Dnipro's left bank - mayor Kovalenko
The mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Volodymyr Kovalenko, says that the town has been constantly under Russian fire for the past few days
He said this on Espreso TV.
“Nova Kakhovka is constantly under fire, and there is serious destruction. According to eyewitnesses, the shots are fired from the left bank of the Dnipro River and the same left bank is being hit. After 20 minutes, representatives of the Russian occupiers and local collaborators arrive. They shoot video and tell the whole world what 'Ukraine's Armed Forces' are doing. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot be blamed for this, because the town's residents see where the ammunition is flying from. After the shot, 5-10 seconds pass and a hit occurs. The Armed Forces of Ukraine clearly have information on the location of enemy equipment and manpower,” Kovalenko emphasized.
The mayor added that life under occupation is difficult in Nova Kakhovka.
“The city has problems with bread, and the population has no money. Almost all products have risen in price, for example sausage costs UAH 700 (USD 19 - ed.). The city's residents are also having a hard time morally,” Kovalenko noted.
