Russian forces pound Sumy region with missiles, artillery

"The communities of Velyka Pysarivka, Krasnopillya, Bilopillya, Esman, Seredyna-Buda, and Shalyhyne in the Sumy region, as well as community of Snovsk in the Chernihiv region came under Russian fire", it is reported.
On the morning of July 16, the Russians launched four rockets from an airplane at the Esman community. After that, the occupiers fired multiple rocket launchers and barrel artillery for two hours: "More than 40 explosions were heard. Civilian infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged".
Also, in the morning, the settlements of the Bilopillya community were under artillery shelling - almost one and a half dozen shells landed.
14 projectiles of the rocket system of salvo fire exploded on the territory of the Novoslobidska community.
"Later, in two cases, the enemy fired 120-mm mortars at the territory of Bilopillya and Velyka Pysarivka communities - 6 and 4 shots, respectively, and 10 shots from 82-mm mortars at the territory of Krasnopillya community," the border guards added.
The Russian Federation shelled Shalyhyne three times from self-propelled artillery, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. In the direction of the Seredyno-Budsk community, the Rashians twice used 120 mm mortars, large-caliber machine guns, and a rack-mounted automatic grenade launcher.
Towards evening, the occupiers opened fire with small arms on the territory of the Khotin community.
In the Chernihiv region, the Russian occupiers shelled the Snovsk community with barrel artillery, 12 explosions were recorded.
"On the territory of Bilopillya and Velyka Pysarivka communities, the enemy conducted aerial reconnaissance using a reconnaissance aircraft," the press service added.
